Sweet Yogurt Dips

Sweet yogurt dips are great to enjoy with fruits, cookies or plain cakes.

Kids and adults will enjoy them without any guilt.

They make a great and healthy dessert(in moderation).

They are easy and quick to prepare.

Always use plain, either low fat or nonfat yogurt without any fillers(starch or gelatin).  Good quality yogurt should contain  “live cultures”.

Serve 6

3 cups low fat or nonfat plain yogurt (for vegans substitute soy or rice milk yogurt)

Options for flavoring:

#1 Chocolate flavor:

2 Tbsp. raw cocoa powder

2 Tbsp. honey, maple syrup or agave syrup.

1Tsp. ground cinnamon or vanilla extract(optional)

Directions:

Mix all the ingredients well and refrigerate.  Serve with sliced fruit or some slices of “angel cake”.

Note: for a “mocha” flavor just add 1 Tbsp. of prepared coffee to the chocolate mixture.

#2 Vanilla  flavor

1 Tbsp. vanilla extract

2 Tbsp. of honey, maple syrup or agave syrup.

Directions:

Mix all ingredients well and refrigerate.

You can serve the “vanilla yogurt” with a baked apple or baked pear.

#3 Berry flavor:

1 cup of washed and pat dry any berries of your choice.

2 Tbsp. honey, maple or agave syrup

Directions:

Mix the berries with a fork crushing them slightly,add the honey (or any sweetener of your choice)and mix well.

Keep refrigerated.

Serve over a low fat vanilla frozen yogurt (for vegans substitute some soy low fat frozen ice cream or yogurt).

You can also serve with some “meringue” cookies (for vegan substitute egg free and non dairy cookies)

You can also crush some either, kiwi, pineapple, mango or papaya for any other flavor that you like.   Just remember to add some sweetener and vanilla  extract to the yogurt.

Tip:

You can prepare any of these flavored yogurt and place them in an ice cream maker to make”Frozen all natural frozen yogurt”.
